When I installed a CarPlay module, it had an installation app on the USB drive that needed to be installed. I had to use the file browser app on the Android radio to find the 'drive' and the installation app.

On my daughter's 128 Android radio, the USB device was not recognized by the radio (also XTrons like the E53). To solve this, I plugged the USB device into a PC which did recognize the device as a USB drive.

I copied the installer to a cloud provider (I use OneDrive) and then downloaded it directly onto the radio. After installing the app on the radio, the app would run, recognize the USB device, and connect to CarPlay.

UPDATE- got the CarPlay working. I ended up having to connect to the module via wifi with my phone and typing in the IP address of the unit and running a system reset and update the firmware- they also sent me the download link to the right app (I was using the wrong one) and it's up and running! Now we have sound and CarPlay works! The last thing to tackle is that pesky digital clicking noise coming the from the rear- we've gone back and forth a couple of times with fixes but nothings worked yet- will update asap!

UPDATE!

I got the new USB and harness and after connecting to the module and doing a reset, AND downloading the right app we are up and running! Turns out I was using "Autoplay" app instead of "auto kit" app.

Either way I still had to connect via IP address to the module and do a factory reset, whew!

The last bit of the puzzle to solve is the digital clicking noise coming form the rear- still going back/forth with AVIN and IBUS with no avail- will keep posted!
