New to me E53
 

I picked up an E53 this weekend. I'm been looking non-seriously for several months, and this one popped up in my own backyard. I got on it quick, and drove it home yesterday.

It needs the typical used BMW stuff. Every gasket leaking, trans/diffs due, cooling system needs refreshed, etc. It wasn't priced well considering the work needed, and it was puffing white smoke. Cold startup was clean, but when driven it was blowing snow like my E39 did when the CCV went bad.

I had a chance to dive into it tonight, and the bank 1 CCV is definitely junk and looks very old with oil getting to the intake. The bank 2 CCV is better, but I'll change it out just to reset all the maintenance logs.

Red? I have yet to see a red E53 around here. Blue either. Most are titanium.
