Fitment is different for pre and post facelift. But all pre-facelift and all post-facelift parts will interchange.

FCP doesnt list fitment because realoem says that part # was never included on something other than a 3.0

You can verify the cross compatibility of these parts by looking at the "titan line" retrofit grills - 51137124823
Those list compatibilty for 3.0, 4.4 and 4.8is. If those fit all models, so does the black one if you so desire.

I think black outers on the kidneys loses the characteristic design of the kidney grills. Personally I'd keep those chrome... but to each their own.

Ok, I've opted to buy new parts black in color :D. It has become an expensive project over $300 but I may recoup some of the cost by selling the intact old parts. Anyway, my X5 deserves a little treat - she's been great all these years :D. After adding spacers she handles like a totally different car. Only 5mm spacers all round. Amazing how such small spacers would significantly change the handling.
