Making the diamond key
Couple years back I purchased the k90 key maker. I lost track of it in storage. Today while organizing the garage I found the key maker .
Maybe I'll get up the nerve to make a key and not foul up the ignition. Any tips, suggestions, expert advice out there guys? Sent from my TMRV075G using Tapatalk |
With AK90 you can also brick your EWS module. Why not just order a new key from the dealer?

Why'd you have to go and say that?
[emoji28]Sure I know that...! Any one else? Sent from my TMAF035G using Tapatalk |
An E53 bricked EWS module is no problem. Easy to bypass with coding and a fuse bypass. I did it temporarily on mine while chasing a parasitic battery drain.

Keys are a disaster. I programmed new key with AK90, now there is a shadow code when used that something is wrong with the key (even though it works fine). Im sure this happens with every key not programmed from BMW themselves. Moreover, i ordered new key from dealer, it doesn't start the car either!!! LOL! Have no idea what these guys are talking about in terms of EWS bypass but if its so easy please share because apparently EWS delete on the ECU in my N62 is very hard if not impossible and at this point i just need reliability of locking and unlocking my car.

I should clarify. EWS delete was easy for a Siemens MS 43. I'm not sure on a Bosch ME 9.2.1
I ordered a DME with EWS deleted. Second, the EWS module wiring was fused to allow starter cranking. The two large EWS harness wires are connected together with a fuse. This company can do it for a Bosch ME 9.2: https://boostmonkey.com/products/ews...u2PscYL6OqCy7J Their price is what I paid for a replacement DME with EWS deleted. |
