Computer screw-up ...
I just got Carsoft 6.5 installed on my notebook and happily went into my X5's computer and started looking around. Long story short, it looks like I did something and now the car thinks the front driver side door is opened when it is actually closed and vice versa. The only change (I think) I did was to turn off selective door unlock (so all doors unlock when I disarm the alarm, without having to press the unlock the second time). Any suggestion where should I start looking? Thanks a lot.

Just to confirm. You decided to connect a laptop to your BMW and access it's computer, correct? Retrace your steps and undo what you did. You did take notes did you not???

Barry, Yeah ... did that, put everything back the way it was ... actually, obviously not quite everything.
Powers1, the Carsoft software is not a problem to get, but you'll need some special cables/interface that's about $160. |

Does this carsoft program??? If it does and you were trying to adjust some parameter on the pcm and cannot get it back, then you will probably have to have the dealer reflash it.
I have used LS1 Edit (which is a programmer) and if you screwed something up bad, you had to have the dealer reflash the computer. The reflash just reloads the oem software back on and you are back to sqaure one. |

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but how much is this software? According to Carsoftusa.com they won't sell to DIY, but I am interested. Any additional info?
