Key fob surgery

A single use will make it work but you really want to get the proper battery with the correct pin alignment (I forgot if they are aligned or ninety degrees off.

I bought mine on Amazon

Reflow the solder joints that’s more often the problem vs. dead battery.

Thought I had a brn battery like the original... I'll head out to the garage and search the two boxes I know.

Well looky here see what I found...
Now if I remember correctly, I can't just plop this board and battery in the existing housing and it work? The code is not in the ECU.
Best for me is to remove the battery from this board and soldier in the battery to the existing board...can I get an amen or is my thinking incorrect?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7ab5d42836.jpg

So what do they do...?
Someone had the bright idea to glue in the battery. But that won't stop me and my trusty exact-0- knife... Success is at hand!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...26eb2e50e7.jpg

As you already seem to be doing, nab the battery off this donor unit. The remote lock/unlock function can be used with your car but the EWS (alarm/immobiliser) chip would need programming to your car with an AK90 etc.(a complex process).

Yeah right I got that AK90 unit in storage...for 4yrs. Never took the time to learn it!
Cord and all. Maybe later this summer.
