Here's my trusty state-of-the-art fluid transfer/extractor pump with added hose clumps and hose pinches, my rigged-up version . Added pic of my speedo

#4 gear selector, I 1,000,000% agree that it's an easy thing to overlook and a big stumper (not for me, nah-uh never!!)[emoji1787]
Great set of pics too, although when you said included a pic of your "speedo" something else popped into my mind and I didn't want to see...[emoji1787][emoji1787] Sent from Embassy network using Tapatalk |
That's a great write up and loved the addition of the clamp at the end of the hose for the transfer pump. I have the exact type.

I should add that I reset the trans adapts and mechatronic reconfig (solenoid change) through ISTA. An additional note is that avoid using power tools. The torque values are very low on the mechatronic. I used power tools at lowest setting and only when driving the screws in but not bottoming them out- start the screw thread by hand and final torque by torque wrench. Lastly, beware of electrostatic discharge. Do not touch the mechatronic power pins. I installed back the old sealing sleeve for added protection. It’s a fun job that requires being meticulous. I enjoyed it.

Fantastic write-up. Thanks for sharing your experience. Let's see how many more years we can get out of our N62s!

Today I took a peek under the car. Transmission pan is completely dry - no leaks at all, not even the Selector Shaft Seal. And no more drops of oil on the floor. Very happy .

Awesome write up!
Thanks  |
