Lowering question?
 

For those of you who have lowered your car, how many of you have regreted it? What kind of springs are better? The H&R or the Eibach? I'm at the stage were do I or don't I. The guy at the dealership said not to because I would ruin the drive as well as the performance. I think it might ruin the drive but not the performance. What do you think?

I have the H&R springs which lower the X by about 1.5" and the rear was lowered using the DIS computer (at dealer) to match the front. Your ride will be harsher as a result but I'm fine with it. It's a trade-off for better handling performance and better looks as well especially with larger wheels.

Phong,you are one of the few guys who admit that lowering will give a noticeably harsher ride!Even with the Eibachs,your ride will be harsher!
I have always had lowered cars,my M3 is and so is the F355,I know my X5 would look better lowered but I am not willing to trade-off!

How much did the dealer charge you for lowering the rear? Did you also have an allignment done after you lowered it? Where did you purchase the H&R from?
