New wheel bearing throwing some oil

Is it normal for a new wheel bearing to throw a couple CCs of oil in the first trip?

I replaced the left, front wheel bearing. My first trip was 100 miles, mostly interstate. It's a FAG. It looks as if it was overfilled when it was manufactured (which I don't mind) and it threw a couple of CCs of oil in a fine mist during the trip. The bearing had obviously been sitting on NAPA's shelf for a minute, so I'm certain there was some oil separation in the grease. The rear of the fenderwell had a strip of oil staining about 2" x 12". The inside of the rim had a sheen to it and so did the CV boot. I did not damage the grease seal when I i stalled the bearing. I used a shop press and mandrels to make sure all of the pressures went in the right places. This looks like it is normal to me.

I'd say you probably damaged the seal/bearing or maybe got a really bad knock off brg or maybe leak is not from the bearing.

Agreed

I've seen traces of grease from new bearings but not in the quantities you're describing. I'd clean it up and keep an eye on it. if it stops throwing grease and isn't making noise than it might be fine.
