attempt to re-initialize non workng key

Right got one working one, and one that after non use can only start car (remote lock unlock wont work)

read that before changing battery to try re-initialize it steps are clear, but am worried that it will screw up fully working key

would best bet be trying to re initialize already working key, followed immediately by non working key

get into car close doors-turn key to position one , take out key after max 5 seconds-then press unlock button and at same time in sequence the center round button 3 times with a few seconds interval between pushes, and then release buttons...this should lock and unlock doors it says...just dang concerned got 1 fully working key and may mess that up too....

anyway done it this way in case of one bad oem key and been successful?

You have to re-pair the working key to sync the non working key.

Did you drive with the non working key to charge it?

If all the buttons work no real risk breaking the good one confirm all the buttons function before starting.

The voiceover says the lock sequence correct but the caption is backwards. You must central lock the doors first. You will get lock unlock confirmation each key.

Thanks for reply, right so try the steps first on the working key followed by the non working one?, as some vids i see people start with the non working one....

I have driven the car with the non working (much newer condition key as was kept indoors as spare) but only for a few hours, read on some forum that it takes much longer to recharge if dead, like 30hours?

checking video the caption about make sure all doors are shut is clear then it says first lock all doors with central locking button(not too clear so lock door whist in car with central locking button in console?) if so this is not included on other vids, others vids just say unlock car, close doors and do steps

Most videos fail to mention you must start with car unlocked

All doors and windows need to be closed but not lock them prior to procedure.

Hand it to Clavurion to know the correct answer.

I just looked up in TIS and it says to have the doors unlocked.

I have had the sequence not work when the central lock was not "just right" and was likely because all the doors were not the same because I had to get in with the key blade.

The official directions say start with does shut and unlocked.

I have definitely had the sequence not work with locked status not matching what it wanted i thought it was it needed to be locked but i had it backwards.

I think you might have to press/hold the unlock button BEFORE turning the key back and pulling it out, that's the part that the TIS is not clear about.

Plus one.

I was taught you press the unlock button while removing the key, but you of course can't do that with the second key, i did have to try a couple times. It was seven and ten years ago the last times i did it so memory is a little foggy.

Just turn ignition to pos. 1, turn off, remove key and start the procedure with key in your hand within 5 seconds of turning ignition on.
