Parking mode and parasitic draw

Recently picked up an Viofo A129 Plus and an HK3 hardware wire kit. Research tells me these vehicles are sensitive to parasitic draw. The HK3 kit does have a voltage cut off switch to prevent draining the car battery; would I be able to keep parking mode with this setup? Also, which would be the best place to draw power from for this feature? I'm not sure where in the glovebox or sunroof module to tap power from.

Thanks

Use the garage door opener wires. Key on/power on. It's how I power my camera.

Do you get constant power for parking mode with the garage door openers? I'd like to be able to capture any tampering or hits while I'm not present.

Most cameras have a built in battery. You can set a sensitivity setting so it turns on to record for 3 minutes or so. Some cameras can be set to record for a short time period after power it cut off. The only power overhead that I think would work, would be the red nose sensor. Or the internal motion sensor. The ash tray port has power all the time, I think. A camera running all night shouldn't drain a good battery. After a day or two, the battery would be too low to start up.

The glove fuse box has usable power.

After you wire in the camera, you can use a voltmeter to determine amp draw. Find the fuse and measure voltage drop across the fuse. The X5 has to be in sleep mode.
