Intake Resonator Tube
Hi, quick one here. I have 2 M54. Where the resonator tube attached to the downstream side of the MAF. I believe there is a runner ring gasket that goes on the male lip of the MAF and this is inserted into tube. Is that correct that the gasket sits on the MAF flange.
On one of my cars the gasket was pushed into the tube, and the tube doesn't really secure to the MAF. The tube mouth is deformed and will not fit the MAF with the gasket on it. Now I ordered a replacement tube and it seems like the gasket was pushed in and the tube mouth is mishaped, so I believe was over tightened and won't take the MAF again with the gasket around the flange. Thoughts? As I'd like to get this secured or return the damaged used part. |
You could try a heat gun.

Thanks. So am incorrect and the gasket rubber ring should indeed sit on the MAF flange?

This link should take you to the complete diagram of the intake assembly with hot links to each part. –awr– Using Tapatalk VIP on iPhone |
Yeah, so does part 3 sit on Part 2. I believe so. I've seen 3 tubes. One has it around the MAF flange. Other two had part 3 inside the tube downstream of the MAF. I'm double checking here to be fair to the eBay seller who sold me the used part.

3 goes on 2 and then into 4
