New Aero Kit Is Installed

I picked up the X from the dealer this evening. It looks absolutely amazing. Its like a whole different vehicle than the one I dropped off at the dealer last week. Now, even though the car looks great I am a bit ticked off. When I first approached my sales guy about installing the kit I asked him if he could cut me a deal and he said he would so I went ahead and ordered the aero kit, the chrome exhaust tips, the aluminium pedals and the aluminium running boards. He gave me a quote of $4881 installed. He then called me back a few days later and told me that the aluminium running boards are not compatibale with the aero kit, I said fine I guess I can live without that. Now this evening when I went to pick up the car, they presented me with a bill for $5405. Mind you, the aluminium running board which is listed at $725 in the accessory book was not installed. Anyway, I voiced my displeasure to my sales guy, paid the bill and left before I blew a gasket and started screaming bloody murder (they have no idea as to what I am like when I lose my temper).

I got home a short while ago and started going through the accessory book and wouldnt you know they basically charged me for every piece of part at the listed price in the book. The money is not the issue, because if he had said to me I am sorry but I cant give you a discount I would have said, no worries mate, and I would have known exactly what my bill was going to be.

Needless to say this has left a bad taste in my mouth and I am seriously considering taking my business elsewhere. I was going to purchase a 3 series in a few months from them for my niece's birthday, plus I was going to recommend to them two family members who will be purchasing BMWs in the next couple of months. Not to mention the fact that that when the lease on my E60 comes due in a few months I was going to upgrade to something with some more power.

Thank you all for listening to my rant. The car itself is looking super sweet and I will post pics of it over the next few days.

Cheers

Glad you like it!!

However, I am confused. He quoted one number WITH the RB and then you got there and he charged you a higher number, WITHOUT the RB and you paid???

Why did you pay??????????????????????????????????????????

You should absolutely ask for a meeting with the parts and service managers after doing the math...there is no way they should have charged full list across the board...short term thinking IMO.

If I were you I would go back and ask for detail explanation of charges. BTW, do you mind telling the name of dealership. There are some dealers in hudson/NY area who give 20-25% disc on accessories.

When I inquired about the aero kit when I ordered the my X, the dealer quoted me about $5500, which is retail price. So that's what he charged you. I would hold him to his quote. There is way too much profit in that number.

I definetely intend to make a big deal about it today. I was in such an aggitated state of mind last night that I couldnt even get a good nights' sleep. At this point I wont say what dealer it is because I am going to give them a chance to rectify the situation and if they dont I simply wont patronise their dealership anymore.

Very good Q? I wouldn't pay a cent more, in fact, I would demand they subtract the cost of RB from the original quote?? stick to your guns. :tsk:
