Thx. I've been looking at those Nokians and also some Yokohamas. I think I'll probably get the OE 17" wheels refurbed and keep the same size 235/65-17s as stock, unless the two junkyard E53s that showed up a few weeks ago have something better.

A great alternate to 235/65R17 are 255/60R17. I like mine. The X5 feels more planted on wet and dry roads. Even with a few inches of snow, it moved great.

I do like the Geolanders I’ve had on the e53 for several seasons now. A decent compromise between crap conditions and highway driving manners. They are pretty quiet on asphalt, especially at highway speeds, other than on concrete. Several concrete streets and avenues around my city and they howl somewhat on these.

I will say they do really well on the winter farm roads I get on when hunting the Midwest. To be fair though, the LSD upgrade is probably mostly responsible for the better behavior in actual mud and snow.

I recently read several good reviews of a new/Updated AT tire from Continental (the Terrain Contact). I don’t need new tires yet, but am going to consider them when I do. I really like the Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02s I put on my M3 and I think Continental is upping their game finally.

I wanted 17" but they wont fit over the 4.8iS brake calipers, so I had to do 18" wheels.
