Another ebay scam!

I even told the guy I would come to him with cash in hand.
No way he says, pay first and it will be shiped to you.
I live 300 mile from this joker!
I knew it was a scam but I had to play with him!
Beware, see link below.

Yes...one of the many dirt balls on ebay. I love ebay...but people like this should be shot.

PersonaNonGrata 02-22-2006 09:58 PM

Oh dang! So you're saying I shouldn't have sent him $18,000?

pepatrick 02-22-2006 10:05 PM

You can send me a few grand too. I am getting the mod bug again. With all the traveling I have been doing...my X5 misses me. I must add something to it before it thinks I dont love it anymore.:D

And what exactly was the assclown's point? Wants to hear his phone ring?

obiparis 02-23-2006 02:50 PM

well...I sent him an email knowing 99.99999% chance that it's a scam. here's what he replied (please note: I never sent him any email earlier):

As I told you in my previous e-mail, we just went back to Italy. One of my
ex-employee will handle the shipping, but I cannot ask him to
meet all interested customers. I must tell you that I have lots of interested customers
(as you can imagine, at this low price) and if you want to buy this BMW X5 we will make
the deal through eBay. After I will have the full payment confirmation I will
make all the shipping arrangements and you will receive the car in no more
than 7 days. The BMW X5 will be delivered with the sale papers of the
signed vehicles, the purchase bill of the vehicle, the immatriculation
certificate of the vehicle , the US homologation or an accordance
certificate community, the discussion notebook and the guarantee notebook
of the vehicle and all the relevant bills of the revisions and 2 extra
keys. Ebay Secure Trade will provide you the details where you have to send
the $18000. When I'll have their confirmation that you send the money to
them, I'll arrange the shipping right away.
After you'll receive the car and the papers you'll have a 15 days
acceptance period. ( that means you'll have 15 days to inspect them and let
ebay know , whether you keep the BMW X5 or not). I trust my car's
condition and hopefully you'll keep it. The car was verified, so from my
point of view you'll decided to keep it without any reserve.
After those 15 days if you announce ebay you'll keep the car, they'll
transfer the money into my bank account. Otherwise (if the car or the
papers will have any problem) you'll be refunded and I'll be responsable
for taking back the BMW X5. Since I'm the one that came with the ideea of using
eBay Secure
Trader, I'll pay the fees. If you are interested in buying it please
provide me your full name, address and eBay user id so I can initiate the deal through
Ebay.

I'll wait for your decision,
Jack

..."the US homologation or an accordance certificate community..." again wtf??

ask him we he just does not drive to a dealer or used car lot and sell it there for more cash and be done with it in 60 minutes. :)

Neither would I but I almost bought a car from a Power Seller (highline auto dealer) with thousands and thousands of positive feedback and the car was not as advertised. Fortunately for me, a fellow X5er who lives in the city where the car was located went out and checked it out for me. The deal was cancelled. Moral of the story: Even with a "reputable" dealer, you win some and you lose some but with buying a car, the losses are more serious.
