2001 Amber Xenon's - Want Clear Corners

Hey All,

I have been searching the posts for a solution to upgrading but the majority of the posts are for non-xenon ambers looking to upgrade to xenon clears. i already have xenons and want to just get rid of the amber. I am not very handy so I don't think I am willing to remove my headlights and remove the amber manually - although it would be the cheap way to go and it looks awesome....

Can I purchase a 00-02 non-xenon clear set on ebay cheap - and then just use the housing since it is clear?

Any other ideas?

I was trying to keep the whole mod under $500 since I already have the expensive xenon's.

Thanks Everyone!

Well, you can remove the housing on your ambers right now by baking it open. The amber piece pops right out. It isn't too hard, you just have to be careful to remove all the rubber pieces, and not to put it in there too long. But if you want to go the OEM route (To make your headlights look like the Sport Package ones), I'm pretty sure you can buy the corner piece from the dealer, and just bake your headlights open, and just swap them in. Not too sure though. Sorry if I wasn't much help. :)

I am afraid that I will break something or not put it back together the right way and the headlight will be ruined and I have to shell out a sh*tload of money for new xenon's...

Is it really an easy mod?

Since you're in SI, contact Luis (BMW330XI01). He lives in Norwalk, CT, and isn't too far away from you. He installed my angel eyes, and can bake the headlights open for you, and do the swap. And hey, while you're at it, buy some angel eyes, and have them installed while he's swapping the lenses. ;) Just be sure to tell him Amar referred you. :)

Sort of, I bought them for $150 during a group buy, but now they're up to $200. You can buy them from our board sponsor JleviSW. In my opinion, it's definitely worth the price, I love getting all the looks from people when I pass by. :D

Here's a link to make it easier for you, and there's a pic of the Angel Eyes installed on my X5 at the bottom of the link...

I had someone else do my angel eye/clear headlights mod (MY 02) and I didin't think the amber piece just pops right off. I could be wrong, but I thought it had to be dremeled off. Although someone else may need to verify.

Also, I don't believe that you can just buy the clear piece either. I took off the amber piece and didn't replace it with anything. If you can just purchase it, someone please let me know the part number.

Oh, sorry about my post, it's a little misleading. I meant that the SP clear/amber piece pops right off, but if you do want to get rid of the amber piece off of the SP lens, then you do have to dremel it off. That's how we did my set-up. Sorry again for my previous post. :)
