Idle Control Valve

Hi all,
I have a 02 4.4i and a 99 540it. Since they have the same engine, I'm wondering if they use the same idle control valve unit (together with the throttle housing unit). I think I need to replace the ICV on the E39 wagon. But I want to test it first before buying the parts. It's like $300ish new. I hope they are the same so that I can do an isolated test.

I called the dealer and they verified it's the same unit.
