Question about the TV kit

Just hooked up the TV kit in my 02 X5. Where did everyone mount the big antenna's? Also what are my options to put in the rear view camera? I heard about the switching box...but what is the cost?

I mounted my antenna in the rear spoiler. Peter's Sirius write-up is a good reference on how to do this - http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...icle&artid=197

A common place to mount the back-up camera is in the Roundel - http://www.xoutpost.com/images/articl...camRoundel.jpg

The OEM camera mounts next to the license plate - http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...ticle&artid=24

Switching box?? :dunno:

If you have the OEM television kit....how do you enable the rear camera? I don't have a camera yet....do I just hook up the camera...and manually switch it? or is there an automated way(switching box)....??

I installed my sirius antenna in the rear spoiler.....I guess I can stick the tv antenna up there too...(just have to go and fish all the cables through again..:(

The common way to do this is using a relay. When the vehicle is put into reverse you can sense the voltage to one of the back-up lights and use that to trigger a relay. The relay will take one of the leads in the video module wiring harness to ground, triggering the system to display the video signal from the backup cam. See page 21 on this document for more details - http://www.tvonnav.com/manuals/TVonN...anual%20v4.pdf

Anyone know where I can get a relay or instructions on building a relay for the automatic reverse camera?

That camera in the roundel setup is really slick!

How do you remove the rear Roundel piece? I want to put my camera in the roundel. Anyone remove this piece? Which reverse light positive did people use to activate the camera?
