AngeliBrights installed!!!! Updated pics...

Hey everyone! I just installed these bad boys today and wanted to share some pics with ya'll. They are AWSOME :D The install itself was fairly easy. The driver's side light was more difficult though. it's blocked by a fluid deposit, but I'd have to say that the installation process went well...
I want to thank Dave @ www.angelibright.com for the excellent customer support  The last pic is a side by side with my wife's e46 coupe equipped with 8000k phosphyre halos :smokin: The glare is not really there on the halos, but I couldn't get a better shot. I'll try to post some day pics tommorrow...Enjoy:woot:

ekaz 03-02-2006 01:03 AM

I have one of those shots where it's all dark but the AE's, looks evil almost. :)

Thanks for your kind words everyone  I highly recommend this mod, no headlight baking required, and the install is a breeze compared to the other kits available...

Its a simple 10min Plug&Play(takes a little more time on the 4.8 because the space is tight)

You DO NOT have to remove the headlights, you are NOT replacing the rings, etc.

broknlgs24 03-02-2006 09:35 AM

nice! i sure wish i had a face-lifted X5.:(

NOC 03-02-2006 09:52 AM

In your pics, I see that only your angel eyes are turned on without the corner lights. How do you do that?

Its because only here in the US do we have to have the poxy amber corners light up as side lights with the AE's, in europe and the rest of the world ( i think ) the AE's are your side lights.Much nicer.
:( :( Boo Boo :( :(

Hey JPM,
Not only do the rings look awesome (on both rides), but your pix are 2nd to none. Very nice work on both.
The notion of Angels without "Shake & Bake" is such an awesome development. Granted, most people will get through the bake-install of other rings, but it's nice to have an alternative with no risk of future leaks/ seal issues.
And if they look that good, shoooot!
Quick Q: Which light intensity did you go with? (I think I saw Dave offers 3 options). You said your wife's are 8000's. How bout yours? (forgive me if I missed this in the thread).
Great work!!!

Hey Mindfull :wavey:
Thanks for your kind words!
The angelibrights are 4500K just as the xenons, and that's the only option Dave offers...When I bought the 8000k for the coupe I thought that it was best to go with the highest possible light output (and more bluish). I had the option of ordering a 6000K (more purplish) but decided on the 8000k. Now that I see that set compared to the angelibrights I think that 4500K xenon matching color is best. The only advantage of my wife's kit over mine is that they are more noticeble during daytime light. On the other hand, just like you stated, the installation process of this kit is what sold me. For the e46 coupe I didn't have to bake the headlight open 'cause you can take them apart without using heat, but then again it's still not plug 'n play because e46 bimmers are not equipped with OEM angel eyes to begin with....The installation process took me about 1 hour and change, compared to 10 to 15 mins

Wow! I guessed I missed that one  ....I guess there is more that one light color afterall....

Jay1967 03-02-2006 05:52 PM

But this is if you already have AE right, if you don't you need to do the baking process.

1st column, 6th row.

We have blue available, people are confused about what color temperature means. 4500k describes the "whiteness" of the Angel Eyes. The blue cannot be described as a color temperature(it is measured in wavelengths).

Contact us for more info about the blue, its a really great way to make your Angel Eyes stand out even more!

This should clarify it:

Angel iBright fits any facelifted e53 X-series with Angel Eyes from the factory ever built. For 00-03 X5 Angel Eyes, see www.CustomAngelEyes.com.

What exactly am I getting if I buy the Angel iBright product? Is there a picture of what's in the box?

As per Dave the $350 price is firm, no g/b discounts. And $350 is kind of steep for me at this time to justify for brighter angel eyes.

jpm4.8is 03-02-2006 08:24 PM

rayxi: Try this thread...
http://www.xoutpost.com/vendor-forum/...ibright-3.html
You get to units (one for each headlight) and a set of instructions (via email)

Unfortunately because it is so early in production, we can't offer big discounts, and will not be able to for a few years(the research, development and actual cost to build these is extremely high because of the quality of components we chose to use, it will take some time before we even break even on this project).

If you guys can get 25 orders together, I can do 10% off and free shipping to anywhere in the US.

Please note this will ONLY be available to xoutpost.com members!

Dave

The link is not working for some reason, but here is a picture. Each headlight gets the iBright system which includes the actual device, the ballast and the OEM connector.

Anyone know how (assuming it's doable) to set up the lights so the orange side markers DON'T come on when the first setting is selected on the headlight dial? (Is it a dealer coding option?)

The dealer should be able to, but I doubt he will. I think disabling turn signal parking lights may be a violation of some DOT laws in America tho.

That's what I suspected... Michelle, did your dealer refuse to do it for you?

Never asked...I don't have AEs yet. But I'm sure godeacs06 is right that it would disable the turn signal...so I doubt they'd do it.

benathon 04-05-2006 03:50 PM

When I asked a while back; they told me that I had to sign a waiver stating that they are not responsible if I get pulled over. It just depends on your relationship with your SA.
