Problem with folding mirrors

When I press the button to fold the mirrors they fold in and fold out again. When I try again one mirror folds in and out...try again the other one might then might not. :o
Any ideas? :dunno:

Typical BMW/X5 electrical gremlin. If your X still has warranty bring it in to dealer.

This is a known issue and your dealer should be aware of it .... The fix is to replace the folding mechanism in the mirror (the dealer will only replace the ones where they actually see the failure :( ... )

jmh is right. I had that same problem too. It's the mirror mechanism. Probably one of them is not working right so that it is affecting both of them.
