Throttle Body - Dinan vs Home Made
 

So, reading through most of the posts on here regarding Dinan TB and how overpriced it is, I came across a few posters who claim that they are able to modify their current OEM TB to function and perform the same as that made by Dinan.
I hereby encourage those who have done this mod themselves to step forward, share their experience as to the process and the result, and people just might be interested in turning to them to do their own TB's for $$$. I mean, why not? On the outside it looks just like OEM so it won't affect the warranty. Plus it would be at a fraction of a price you'd pay for Dinan. Please discuss.

i cant believe Dinan is the only big tuner for BMW's. There has to be someone else with a TB. How bout cold air intake?.....guess i gotta search?

I might do it when the weather gets a lil better. Not really sure it will do much for the X5 though. Worked well on my Vette, when coupled with other addtions. The X5 is a 5000# truck and gaining a theoretical 5hp won't do anything.

The AFE intake would probably be the best bet.

Porting the heads would be nice. :)
