AFE owner Question...
 

I had the AFE intake on my 4.4 for about 4-5 months 5-6k miles on it now and I noticed that the AFE blue filter is starting to fade to a yellowish color. I know that the blue color on the filter is the oil on it but does this mean I need to clean and re oil it so soon?? My brother has AFE intake too and he told me when he cleaned it, the filter turned out to be white and the blue oil makes it blue.. My filter is not all faded just certain part of it..

Not sure about why its fading especially just in one spot. Never saw that before. But i do now that over oiling a filter will ruin your MAFS. So as long as it was properly oiled the first time. Do not reoil it until it is cleaned. Which should be done every 15k miles usually.

Anyone else experience this with their AFE filter?? I just check again today and I only have around 7k miles on the filter and the whole filter is turning into a white color and before it was just part of it..

Yes, I was going to ask this same question. My filter is definitely turning whiter. I have turned it 180 degrees to see if it is an issue witht he positioning. I have a 4.4 and it has only been 1-2 months with the install.
