Possible issue with radio
When I change radio stations, depending on the station I trying to tune in, it can take in excess of 6 seconds. I'm being told by the Stealership that this is normal on the X5's due to the type of antenna.
Anyone else have this issue as well? What was the outcome if any? |
turn off RDS.
Here's a thread on the same topic. |
That's really wild
I've had an 01 and an 03 M3 with RDS enabled on both and never had a problem. Instantaneous tuning. Guess I'll go down to my X and see if I can turn off the RDS and try it that way.
Thanks for the help! |
i took my X5 to the dealer w/ the same issue.
they advised me to turn off RDS. i thought maybe it was the radio module. i replaced that. i still have the tuning delay. i have NAV and display the map 24/7; so, the station info. is unseen anyway. |

Well guys, I just went up into the parking garage, turned off RDS and then flipped through the stations at the radio and at the steering wheel. The stations are coming in as fast as I can hit the buttons.
For whatever reason, it's overly sensitive in the X5 to RDS. But, it now works great. Thanks everyone. |
