Used engine oil smell
 

Recently I he noticed the smell of used engine oil in my garage after my X5 has been parked there for about a half hour of so. This is after a trip home from the office, not high performance driving.

There are no signs of oil leakage anywhere. A mechanic mentioned rubber lines that run from the manifold to the oil pan. I have already had the rocket scientists at the dealership check the car and they said they didn’t smell anything. What's new........ The only time my garage has this smell is after the X5 has been driven.

Any ideas???

I noticed the same smell on my 05 4.4. It seems to happen randomly. I would love to know what it is before I take it to the dealer. I recently took the X for inspection I, and nothing was mentioned.
