Lower spring kit guidance - what to do?

I'm looking to lower my 4.4i and see that there are three different lower kits:

B+G Suspension - 1.4" F/R
H & R - 1.2"F/1.0"R
Eibach - 1.2" F/R

I'd like to go for the B+G springs since they lower the most but don't have any experience with any of them.

Any thoughts on which way to go?
Does anyone make kits that lower 2" or more?

Thanks!

Many have gone with H&R incl. myself and it gets the job done for the money. What I like is you don't have to change the OEM shock. I'm not sure but one or two board members may have Eibach.

I've never had eibach lowering springs for the X5. But I have used them for my M3 and they are great. IMO much better then H&R in quality. I have been to the eibach factory and know for sure the quality control is better then that of H&R. In addition, H&R doesn't have an in-house development program here where eibach does. But don't get me wrong. H&R are still good springs over all. I just feel eibach are better from my experience.

There's also Tein. Lower's 1.5" all around.

While this threads still fresh and ppl coming in reading it. I have a few noob-qs on spring/suspension kits as well.
1. What happens to the OEM rear airsuspension? Are there springs on them too? Does it matter what type of spring you putting on them?

2. With the kits you get, is it simply replace the OEM springs with the ones you brought? eg. H&R, bilisten, eibach...etc etc?

3. For cars without the sports package (eg. my car), will handling be improved EVEN BETTER than that the OEM spring? or theres much more needed be done? (eg. new strut bars)?

4. Does installation process differ, on SP/standard?

Big thanx to everyone! Read/Answering to my NOOB QS Cheers :)

I have 2001 4.4 with SP. I was sketical of ride quality with lowering spring and got feedback from TommyX. I finally had a BMW mechanic to put on Eibach front spring and he also used DIS to lower rear height for it has air-suspension on the rear. After 3000 miles or so, I like Eibach and the ride is not rougher than original SP. I have no regret with Eibach front spring.

well to the best of my knowledge...

1. the rear air suspension is lower with a special leveling mechanism that h&r provide or you can go to bmw dealer and lower it via the dis.

2. if you purchase springs you just trade out your oem for the aftermarket, the only brand i know of the top of my head is ac schnitzer which replace the shocks and spring.

3. i would think your car would be improve handling wise like lane changing and curve taking maneuver. the spring is stiffer and you lower the center of gravity in your car :dunno:

4. same thing.

i hope this help correct me if im wrong on any of the items.
