My X has an older friend to share garage with!

Have been looking for several months now and finally brought one home about a month ago to share the garage with the X5. I love the X and its civility and usefullness, but there is really nothing like raw american horse power and two seats!!!

1970 Corvette convertible. Numbers match, 4 speed, 350/300 h.p.

That's not just a Vette- it's a Stingray!

Dude- you know how many cool things are out on the aftermarket for that thing? Big disc-brake kits, suspension upgrades, even a fuel-injection conversion kit.

Nice looking car, one of my all-time faves and possibly the world's greatest engine.

It's well in order and restored so I'm going to go the original route I think. Toying with the idea of having the engine re-built for an extra 50 HP or so, but keeping stock parts...

I plan on taking lots of pics in the next couple of weeks as it warms up here in the north east. Maybe even some with the X5 and the vette together. I'll include some interior pics too.

Just Beautiful. Congrats.
I miss my '71 every day of my life and will be getting another, no doubt about it. If you decide to have some fun and stay "OEM" perhaps build the motor to LT1 spec (370hp) but substitute the newer grind hydraulic cam so it is much more streetable for a daily driver. Congrats again. That is a true classic and way cooler than any new $100K+ car.

It sure does turn heads.....surprisingly enough it's a HUGE hit with kids! The corvette wave is pretty cool too.

totally agree, but who has an extra $75,000 - $100,000+ lying around to buy one?!?!?! The C3's are the next ones to go up in value and are still affordable right now so i had to get into one now before it was too late.

Just took it out for a spin...it's 78 degrees here in NJ and a perfect day for a convertible.

Saxi 04-13-2006 06:18 PM

My dream car

Always wanted a 1968 - 1972 427ci convertible/hardtop.

I will probably have to wait since the dollar price is skyrocketing right now

The 69-72's are not that expensive right now actually. nothing like the 63-67's. Now's the time. i have done TONS of research over the last 9 months or so...if anyone is looking into buying one of these, let me know, I have alot of information to share with interested parties.

Thanks again for the compliments! i can't wait to get the X and the corvette all polished up for a group photo shoot.

Now I have to re-model my garage since I have such nice cars in it...they deserve a nice remodeled home!

83,000 miles. Numbers matching engine...haven't had it on a lift to check the numbers on the tranny, etc. yet. Honestly the engine numbers match was the only one I really cared about. Mostly restored, new interior, new brakes with s/s sleeves, new rear leaf, etc. About 10 year old paint which is in AMAZING shape. only about 5 spots with a bubble here and there or cracking the size of a pencil eraser...really well kept. When the paint does need replacing someday, Im thinking of bringing it back to its original Donneybrook Green...although that won't turn as many heads as the red!

The side pipes are Hooker 2.5" openings and LOUD! Love it.

1963 with only 13,000 miles !!!!!!! A tad steep of a price though I'd say. Have any pics of your Z16?
