24" rims?
I was thinking of sticking some 24's on my x5 with very low profile tires but everyone keeps telling me not to do it as it will reuin the ride and make the road feel bumpy etc...
How bad will it get? i think 24's will look the dogz bollo*ks but is it worth it? |
I wouldn't try it, you're asking for too much trouble. Plus, it'll look funny b/c the tires (if you can find any that fit) will look like rubber bands on those huge rims. Most people here will say that 20s are the best handling/looking. Some have 22s and they look fine, but unless you live in the suburbs with well paved roads, city driving will be hazardous to the X's health.

24s on a X5 are too big and actually look stupid in my opinion. go with 22
|
yea i think def too big
|
If the roads where you drive are smooth like silk, then go for it. Otherwise you will be dealing with harsh ride, bent rims, etc.
|
not sure if they will fit, you would have to go with a 25 series tire.
Alpine put a custom 26 or 28 inch rim on their mod x5 http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...578_4_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...78_24_full.jpg |
hmm... i already have 20's on there, mite go for 22's then, i only had the car days, i think im turnin into a fanatic already! lol
|
20s already feel kinda bumpy ... you could go for 22's but if u want 24's, dont go for something too blingy...
bimmers always tend to look good with 5 spoke or mesh wheels (dpes my friend :) ) |
|
uhhgg... just horrid.
|
Good find Krunk. On the third pic ,I can swear that the wheel is almost in contact with the pavement!
Dont do anything for me!Must be as hard as hell! |
i like the wheel design but it would just be a pain in the ass with 24s. I already worry enough about bending rims with my 22s.
|
24s are way too big for an x5. With that 25 series side wall, your just asking for trouble. I'm not even sure how safe that could be. I would go largest 22, but I think a nice 20 with a small bit of lowering looks great. Save the 24s for the bigger SUVs. I don't think it looks good when the overall height of the vehicle is raised just to accomodate the wheels. Plus big wagon wheels really slow your car down in every aspect.

24's? Are you kidding?
Further proof that as hard as you may try, you can't buy class. |
AGREED, 24's should be left for the people who cant afford X5s....they end up spending more money on their wheels then the ride itself. makes no sense:confused:
|
Indeed...........Save the 24's for the Escalades, Navigators, & Hummers.
20's are perfect for the X5 & SOME 22's look great on it (WUZIN!!!! - WOW!!!) Perfect color combo bro!!! |
Those 24's look silly and dangerous no? They look like rubber bands for tires! I would be afraid to take that on a long trip!
|
Personally I think 20's are perfect, anything bigger just ruins the look of the X5, but it's your $$$ GL.
