AFE Cold Air Intake installed on '05 4.4i

If you need any help installing on a 4.4i or have questions please send me a private message. I'd be glad to help.

Feels a little bit stronger; growls a bit louder above 2500 RPM; sounds like a bit like a Porsche (Wagner: No comments :) )

Good Mod in my opinion.

No hoses needed. Or, at least I don't THINK I need any

Where would I need a hose? Between the sub-grille black air channel and the new grey box?

My old airbox had an air channel tube into the bottom of the stock airbox but the new AFE setup doesn't use an input air tube at all. Or, at least mine didn't come with one..... :dunno:

You shouldn't need one. I was just making a note to myself comparing 4.4i (new) vs 4.6is.

Did you have a hose dangling free after the install the use to go the the side of the airbox?

Good question.

I'd like to know the answer to this, too. I've read about "the dangling mystery hose" that may require a small filter(?), and I'm concerned. :dunno:

Thanks for any assistance.

Nope. I took it off along with the airbox. See pix in my next post.
