PS: my car is dropped by the dealership via DIS*air suspension. Total cost came out to be 150$ well worth it, if u have all around air suspension.(finger gap in the front is 2-3fingers) :)

Pumbaa 04-24-2006 03:40 AM

First of all Thanks a lot man, your ride is f* unbelievelable man, pimp ride:rofl:
So 150$ is how much? exclude those air suspension? just the size/tires/wheel is how much?

Dblock2151 04-24-2006 04:02 AM

I hate you bro. I want that drop so badly, all my dealers don't want to mess with my rear-air suspension. :(

When are you going to get the center caps?

powers1 04-24-2006 05:34 AM

Its looking even better!Congrats.

ncx 04-24-2006 08:44 AM

Xtacy 04-25-2006 10:03 AM

Sweet 4.8......

mb23 04-25-2006 12:19 PM

the car sits like a bull man......i love it i wonder if i can get it done on my 06 4.4 without using h & R springs...

DINANM3 04-25-2006 12:52 PM

Im also wondering why you dont have any center caps

AlpineMsix 04-25-2006 12:56 PM

Well first of, I have a friend that works at the dealership. So i talked to him and found out what service advisor knows somewhat about aftermarket stuff, so the advisor at least knew what i was semi talking about.

Then I went to the service advisor and talked to him bout my lowering my X via air suspension. Surprisingly an older man with a black 4.8 did this as well about a month or so before i got my car, so the sales rep knew what i was talkin bout and said theyd try it out but cant guarantee if it will work.

After around 3hours i got a phone call sayin the car is "ready"

So i went to go pick it up, and the rep described it like this "the car WAS lowered" so in every setting it sat a bit lower then stock(dont know how much lower) but deff lower in the "middle" and "low" setting.

As far as making the suspension STAY in the lowest setting and not make it raise above 25mph they were not able to over-ride that. I really loved how the car looked in the lowest setting, I mean the SAV was slammed!! The finger gap in the front wheels is about 2-3fingers.

This is where the intrax module came into place.
With this module that is easily installed behind the glove box. The module taps into 6wires. After the installation of this module, I can drive in any setting. From the highest to the lowest setting, the car will not raise or lower if im going above 25mph.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR GUYS' COMMENTS I STILL CANT GET ENOUGH OF THIS BEAST EVERYDAY I WALK OUTSIDE TO GO TO SCHOOL, AND I JUST LOOK AT IT, EVEN WALKIN AWAY AS I GO TO CLASS I TURN BACK, SAYING "WOW I LOVE MY CAR"

simon78 04-25-2006 01:08 PM

As far as i know, its only made for the 4.8 because the 4.8 has ALL around air suspension. Think of it as a chip that over rides the suspensions mode that raises/lowers to middle setting after 25mph.

MSRP price for this module is 1000$ from intrax

www.drivewire.com sells it for 700$ thats where i got it. The price does seem kind of high, but after getting wheels for my car, i knew i had to have this module to slam my car not only when standing.. but driving as well :)

if your lucky, you might find a better deal somewhere out there that deals with intrax

surreal 04-25-2006 06:01 PM

why didn't you lower ur x with say...h & r springs?...think whut you did was better?

its air suspension... H&R does not make air suspension type springs for the X5.

For example, the 4.4 has rear suspension only... so people get front springs from H&R and then lower the rear by the dealership

Batm4n 04-26-2006 12:13 AM

Think the 4.8 kit will work on a 4.4 with adjustable suspension?
I've been waiting electronic module to override the 25 mph auto raise.

Didn't the 4.6 come with complete adjustable suspension also? Was there a different in the suspension between the 4.6 and 4.8? Anyone know?

X5ster 04-26-2006 12:20 AM

amazziinggg..luv the wheels

menerso 04-26-2006 04:33 PM

I am a 4x4 lifted truck kind of guy, but getting my X5 and seeing what you did with your X5... makes me rethink my religion.
