Roof spoiler rattle

Ever since gettin my sub installed. The only thing i noticed that tends to rattle a lot is the roof spoiler.

I do have some dynamat that i can apply to it, but will dynamat do the trick? Or is the way the roof spoiler positioned will dynamat not help?

I am not very familiar with dynamat nor how or where to apply it.

I am willin to give it a try.

But wanna get some suggestions from you guys first.

my spoiler also rattles with heavy bass. Its only noticable from outside thought. Dynamat is a bitch to do, and really is only if your going to seal your trunk. I dont think its worth messing around with.

If you're referring to the spoiler on the top of the lift-gate, you might want to check the five torx screws holding it on. Four of the five on the wife's '02 worked loose and the spoiler departed the vehicle.

I installed the replacement with liberal amounts of Lock-tite...

I remember when I was looking for rattles; the tube from the rear water nozzle was causing the spoiler to touch the windsheild. I suggest removing the spoiler to check the connecting points.

Dynamat is very difficult to work with... You need a heat gun and if you don't have enough its pointless; because other parts will rattle.

What I have done to lessen the rattles, possibly caused by the tube for the rear water sprayer is wrap some velcro felt on areas that it might come in contact with the roof spoiler (see what's circled in RED). This doesn't completely eliminate the rattles, but it helped a lot. At least it allows me to raised the bass level a bit more before the annoying rattles return. If anyone else have a better fix, please do share.

I found exctly the same thing with the water tube, but it rattled just over small bumps.
Took me ages to find. Very easy to fix.

There are a couple acoustic foams on the market that would probably be easier to apply then DynaMat liners.

Do a Google search for 'Acoustic foam'

Here is a link to the Dynamat foam:

Bump, going to get some Fatmat soon, and would like to know how to make the spoiler stop rattling. :)

OK, kind of off topic, but I just ordered the white third tail light (thanks Morristown) and need to get into this spoiler. I found three of the five Torx screws that are mentioned here. Can someone point out the other two??
