x-pipe for 4.8is?
I was just wondering what exactly are the benefits of the x-pipe...over say getting a dinan exhaust...i know the price is wildly different but other than that...which would you suggest?
|
if you add the xpipe it will be mildly louder.
It really depends how loud you want the exhaust to be. I know if you just throw straight pipes it will be really loud but i think their have been issues with rattles and maybe a loss of power. An x-pipe wont be as loud but still give you more sound than stock. If It was my truck i would do the xpipe and see how i liked it. The pipe is like $80 and install around $60-80 . Good Luck |
thank you krunk man....would you suggest magna flow x-pipe?
|
I believe thats what most poeple have. I think the 4.8 has thicker pipes so im not sure what size you need.

to my knowledge, running straight pipes without some sort of cross over is a very bad idea for engines that have two banks of cylinders:
you want to neutralize the pressure between the gases exiting both cylinder banks. if you have straight pipes -- e.g., without any cross over -- the exhaust gases will not balance out. this could result in too high or too low of an exhaust gas pressure on the two sides of exhaust resulting in a potential DECREASE in power. |
anyone know whut size?

I think its 2.5"
