any1 tinted their taillights of headlights. im plainnin on doin both.i dont want the tails to be too dark and i just wanna darken up my headlights.

There are a handful of pictures floating around of tinted rear lights. I have seen both a lighter tint and blacked out.

As far as tinting your headlights, that's really not a good idea. I would go as far as to say it's plain silly. Why would you want to cut down on your nightime visibility, dulling the brightness of your headlights, by tinting your headlights? Even a little bit will have an effect. I don't think it will enhance the look of the X5 either.

headlight tint

My cousin tinted (smoked) his tail lights on his X5, but only tinted the little yellow reflector on his sport package headlights. They look pretty nice, but i dont want to mess with mine.

:clueless:

I guess if you really wanted them dark you could just take the bulbs out....

How is this possible?? by tinting do you actually put the tint film on the plastic or paint it?

ive seen many mbenz especially the c class that from the dealer lot have dark rear taillights and they say its like that its slightly smoked to blend with the body and it looks nice i like the look and at night its bright still

Guys, relax, the OP didnt ask for opinions, he asked if anyone has done it so far, lets cut him a bit of slack.

Yes, it has been done, yes, it will cut down on visibility.

If you want to see a few pics, there was a ebay auction for a white x5 that i saw with smoked out headlights and tail lights, ill post you a link if i can find it.

IMO, don't do it.... :(

But check the 3M films, see if they make a headlight protector film that is tinted...at least then you will have the benefit of the headlights being protected.
