So Calif Brake Controller Install Help!
 

:confused: :confused: Any one in So Calif have a brake controller installed? I printed the instructions and took to the the guy who installed on my Touareg but he won't touch the X5. Need some help as to who can do this for me!

here's a diagram that will make it very easy... its how I wired mine.

I have a bracket with a GM switch on the pedal for my controller. I didn't splice into the factory electronics.

right. multiple ways of doing this. the controller just needs to know when you actually pressed the brake pedal.

the oem install manual and tenkonsha both recommend using the LCM splice and thats what i ended up doing.

for me, it was easier to run and splice a cable then it was to mount and align a bracket with a button and didn't have it interferring with the regular travel of the brake pedal.
