[Q] Part No. for '04+ OEM decorative skid plated
IMHO this rounds out and thickens the nose of the OEM bumper cover/moulding which I personally find to be a bit skimpy when compared to the front of a CayanneS for example.
I wasn't aware that this part was available for the later model X5 but according to this image of Rob_'s X5 it is. Curious if anyone has a part no. as my dealer has grown incompitent since they were taken over by BMW corporate.. Thanks, Josh http://www.xoutpost.com/attachments/x...late-front.jpg |

If I add the 4.6/4.8 front spoiler, will this part still fit???
|
I highly doubt it
Thanks again...
I'm going to repaint all the facelift parts and this piece to body, will post pics in a few weeks. Josh |
Somewhere in this thread, somebody says the plastic skid plate won't fit the 4.6 and 4.8is models.

The part number for the skid plate is: 82 11 0 021 339 $209 before any discounts.....
Also look at the pics in this earlier thread..... http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...ght=skid+plate |
Description for the item states it needs to be painted - what color does it come from the factory?? All the ones I have ever seen have been titanium (silver), so I was just wondering if this was the production color of it or is it just a coincidence that silver is the only color I have seen.
The other reason for asking this is I am trying to decide since I have a white X, whether I would keep it silver to make it look like it is metallic or paint it white to match the vehicle - obviously I have some concerns painting it white with it being located up front and under the vehicle. |
