Just a matter of time!

Just a matter of time before our X5's have this option!

Now if the system could somehow disable the engine on the jerks who try to squeeze around you as your front end drifts into their lane making the tight reverse turn, stopping you from continuing!!!!!!!!!!!:gun:

I don't know. That's just not right. Takes the joy out of knowing how to parallel park. Nothing like the feeling of accomplishment when I whip it in, in one shot, as someone is watching shaking their head, thinking, she's never gonna do it, I've got to see this.

Makes a drivers test easier.

You and I and many other people are good at it...but I want it for the jerks who try to squeeze into a spot in front or behind me....In Philly & NY you just back up til you hit the car behind you, then roll forward till you hit that car, repeat process until in. That's why so many city dwellers have those ugly black rubber bumperettes taped to their bumpers!

All kidding aside, pretty cool technology though!

I agree, the techology is incredible. That being said, once you rely on technology, you lose the skill. What next, maybe auto pilot. We won't even have to pay attention when driving. Oh, I forgot, most don't now. ;)

And if it works as good as all the other BMW electronics do then I suspect we'll be seeing lots of high insurance bills and happy collision shops and car rental agencies. Probably end up parking you pointing the wrong way, on your roof wedged in between two properly parked vehicles!
These are the people who designed the multi updated engine/transmission software and the window regulators!!!!

Similar concept was recently shown on the upcoming LS600H by Lexus. Spring 2007 release. May address the reliability issues mentioned above.....
