My friend just got a crazy deal on a 2003 X5 4.4 sport

My friend just bought a 2003 X5 4.4 sport pkg fully loaded nav, prem, everything. ITs white and has the 87s on it with brand new toyos. 30000 miles on it mint condition. Not one scratch or dent interior looks like no one ever drove it. He paid 25k for it. Has anyone ever seen a better deal than that. I was pretty surprised

jubu 05-06-2006 10:34 PM

Wow...awesome deal...I would've been a bit skeptical myself. Where did he buy it? I'm assuming private sale?

If it's is good condition, that's a great deal!

at4689 05-06-2006 10:52 PM

wow thats a good deal, congratulations to him

crosvs 05-07-2006 12:28 AM

wow. my 2001 4.4 Sport with nearly all options including nav is kelley'd at around $20K lol and it's got 87K miles and is in "ALMOST LIKE NEW" condition.

vinuneuro 05-07-2006 01:34 AM

SOLID deal! Who was the seller?

DINANM3 05-07-2006 01:15 PM

He was a private seller on ebay. But he ended up being some guy that lived only a half hour from him. He went to the guys house and couldnt believe the condition it was in. For the price he thought it was going to be a POS. So he bought it on the spot and went to the dealer and got the CPO warranty for it till 6/100.

bmwx5lover 05-08-2006 12:07 AM

If you believe his car at that price, YOU DONT OWN AN X5

mine is 2002, Premium Pkg 54K mile bought for $24K. LIKE NEW

asawadude 05-08-2006 12:30 AM

Actually he does own an X5 and a very nice one at that.

Are you sure? Did you see him pay $25K with your own eyes? I don't believe such deal could exist if you go out hunting for an X5. Maybe it just me but I searched for my X5 2 months in VA, MD and DC area and I know what it takes to get a good deal. And to be honest, i dont know if i even got a good deal. I could say I got my X for less than $10K and everyone will go "you crazy" but I wouldn't do that because I would be lying to the X5 community we got here. Assume everyone in here owns an X, and they know how much they paid for their Xs, you think they would be believe this dude? Or just fake congrats to him? Well, i still don't believe him period.

Roc3b 05-08-2006 09:30 AM

We have been saying for months that the prices on these things is dropping like a rock in a pond because of the new body style, & gas prices forceing $80 fillups. Everyone was saying I was player hating but it is true, the market is driving down these prices.

WTF? Check out Dinan's profile and be on the board for more the 20 posts then tell us how he doesn't own a X5

The KBB trade-in's on the X aren't that high:

Excellent
$30,125

Good
$28,600

Fair
$25,750

And the seller was most likely either paid off or a wholesaler for the value which, at $25,000 is not that much of a price hit. Just because you paid a marked up cost doesn't mean someone else needs to.

bozo 05-08-2006 09:45 AM

Thats is a great deal...Sometimes you get people who just want to sell a car no matter what...Who knows what the real reason is...You hear all kinds of stuff, but it all comes down to what the person wants to achieve...Either he paid for it already and the 25K is going something he really wants, or the payments are killing him, and he just wants out of the deal...Who knows..

Anyway D, is your friend going to be our newest member? ;)

Roc3b 05-08-2006 09:47 AM

there are three books...galves, KBB, and Edmunds....KKB is the highest.

Wags you have to compare all three.

Roc3b, you're right which makes my point even more...that 25K, while rarely seen, isn't that huge of a deal on a 2003 X5. :)

WTF are you talking about. Are you actually trying to say i dont really own an X5. First of all I own an X5 and second of all im buying a second one in a couple of months. But that is besides the point. Since ive onwned dozens of BMWs over the past 15 years. And my first car was a BMW.
Now ive bben on this website for about a year now and have come to know many of the people on here. I also have over 1200 posts.
You have like 10 posts and noone knows you. How do we know you have an
X5. Memers here have seen countless pics of mine where is yours. Do you have an X5?
Just because my friend got a smokin deal by luck on a X5 you think i dont own one. What are you talking about.
The fact is as Wagner and others have correctly stated gas prices and a new X5 model coming out is driving down our resale values drastically. Its a reality and thats life. So accept it. My buddy got a better deal than you did. I think it was mostly being the right person in the right place at the right time and the fact that he has tha ability to pay cash all helps.

bmwx5lover 05-08-2006 10:51 PM

Geez, stop showing off...

Who really cares how many BMWs you own, or how many posts you wrote, how much money you have. Geez man, stop showing off. I am new here and I worked hard to own my first X5. I just said i don't believe the guy and there you go showing off your stuff. Please.

You said you didnt believe i owned an X5. Im not showing off anything. I just get really F#$%ing pist off when people call me a liar. And i assumed you were calling me a liar. Dont try to turn this around on me. I dont need to show off anything especially to people i have never met face to face before. I worked hard for everythin ive ever bought. Be it my first BMW or my latest. You started this bullshit. Where did you get the balls to say I dont really own an X5 and you didnt believe the deal my buddy got. I have nothing to lie about. and no reason to show off.

surreal 05-08-2006 10:58 PM

so you just accuse people of lying.....for the fun of it....he made the time to post something intresting to lie about it?...get real buddy...

bmwx5lover 05-08-2006 11:36 PM

For god's sake, forget what I have said and move on.

"WTF" "F%ING" "BS" shouldn't be used. Thanks and be nice. Don't pour your anger here please. I just expressed my opions thats all. Profanity is not recommended. Still don't believe in such deal period. I dont accuse no one and didn't even directly mention anyone name. "YOU" in my post meaning "WHOEVER". Dont get offended and personal. Once again, forget what I have said and move on.

I don't know what your problem is. DINANM3 has been on this board a very long time; he's established alot of credibiity here providing both technical advice and X5 owner comraderie, so he's earned the respect of the people who are on this board day in and day out.

But you come in here and flat out accuse him of lying. So DINANM3's buddy got a great deal. Just because you weren't fortunate enough to find such a great deal, there's no reason to turn it into a personal attack.

Take a chill pill and enjoy the forum. You're not going to find alot of stuffed shirts and pretentious people here, so don't even bother playing that card either. And take the time to know your audience.

I dont really care if you believe me or not. But the deal is real and i have no reason to lie. I just past on information to everyone here about my friends experience. My friend has no reason to lie to me. So i think the only one with a problem here is you. The only thing i agree with you about is that you should end this post now.

You guys are over anylyzing stuff. I just said i don't belive this deal. And I could count about 15 of you started jumping on me for no reason. Here is the fix to my original post..."IF I BELIEVE THIS DEAL, I DON'T OWN AN X5". Happy everyone?????

Just a litlle advice for the future: if you're buying a pre-owned car, don't buy it in this area cause all stealers overcharge like crazy. U'll be better off expanding your search to the tri-states area. Trust me on this one and hope to see you Saturday!

:tsk: Lets see if I walk into a room of a bunch of people I don't know, go up to a group, hear someone say 'man my friend just paid 25K for a X5' and I then call them a liar in front of everyone, I would expect some backlash.

How much was it to add the CPO warranty?

I dont remember eactly how much he said it was for the CPO warranty. I think it was around 2K. But dont quote me on that. I will give him a call and get the exact number later. I think he said something about trying to get the extended Maintenance warranty to but he either couldnt get it or it was too expensive. I let you know later.

wow.

hm. that didn't quite do it justice. WOW.

so i just got back on the boards after a 3-day hiatus lol and ... THIS is what i find?!

i'm only going to say two things:

(1) bmwx5lover -- either (1) you've got a lot of audacity and arrogance joining a new community (thereby implicitly requesting of the community approval from its extant members in granting you membership) and speaking with the candid informality of a long-time (rude) member; or (2) you are incredibly inept with people and/or give very little thought to your choice of words. Or both, I suppose. Put another way, you're either really rude or really tactless -- or, of course, both. Either way, you shock me as being the only such person I've yet encountered.

and

(2) I have only been a member on this board since early March but already I consider myself a very lucky BMW owner -- indeed, a very lucky individual, period: over the years I've perused and joined several message boards and online communities, and I am pleased to say that rarely before have I been a part of a group of such decent, proper, kind, and helpful indivdiuals as you will -- if you are lucky enough -- find here. This community must seriously be the standard against which all other online communities should be based. It's "nearly perfect 50/50 weight balance" of technical knowledged, community activities, member comraderie, and casual banter in the lounge is an equilibrium most other membership communities -- both online as well as offline in the real world -- can only hope to achieve. And I am pleased to say that in my two full months on this board, you, sir, are an embarassing blemish to this otherwise virtually perfect conglomeration of BMW enthusiasts and all all around good and kind people.

I pity you -- as I would pity anyone -- who is so miserable and unhappy with their own person as to be driven to such an extent as to warrant their implicit attack upon a member of a community, the member whom they do not even know; the community of which they have only just joined.

On behalf of the entire X5world community, I say to you now, remedy your attitude or get lost; we don't need your kind here.

I swear this smiley was made just for you: :tsk:
