angel i bright
how easy is it to change a light bulb, does it void the warranty. No electrical experience and a 2006 4.4i w/ xenon. Is it woth the money?
|
it's simple plug and play...I think Dave at customangeleyes said that it should void your warranty since it pulls less power (?), but check with him on that. whether it's worth it is up for debate, but it's good quality and definitely looks a lot better than the factory angel eyes color. If you do get it, start on the passenger side angel eyes first...there's more room to see what you're doing, so that when you do the driver's side bulb, you'll have an idea of what to do because you're pretty much doing everything on that side by feel since that reservoir thingy is in the way. Make sure to unbolt the 3 bolts that hold the reservoir down so that you have more room to manuver. If you do an angelibrights search, you'll find before and after pics.

Will NOT void the warranty, and install is easy on the X5!
Dave |
oops, my mistake, i meant SHOULDN'T void your warranty.........sorry Dave.
|
if i asked my dealer they would say the samething about it not voiding the warranty, would they install it for me and are their any pics of the installation, to see how simple it is.
|
are they also legal in florida?
|
They are legal in every state, most BMW dealers will not install non-BMW parts, would depend on your relationship with them. Many BMW dealers order these from us for their customers.

iBright definitely is a good buy, but to be warned that you may have the same problem as one of the forum member and myself. I believe Dave is still trying to find us a fix.
The iBright blinks on driver side, when I turn the key to pos. 2 (Ignition on) with headlight switch on OFF pos. http://kona.blackpig99.com/ae.avi |

I switched the polarity, it doesn't work either. |

Edit: nevermind what i said about the trying the ibrights on both sides part; if the oem bulbs work then it probably isn't the factory wiring. |
The issue blackpig is having is unique to only his vehicle. We are working with him to resolve the issue, but be aware that this is a unique issue with only his vehicle.

I am the other forum member Blackpig is speaking of. I am having the same problems as him. Dave has provided superb customer support thus far, however I am convinced my unit is simply defective.
|
is it the same process for a 530i 2007 w/xenon.
|
Yes, installation is also easy on the 530i e60 although the actual iBright is a little different for the e60.
|
My iBrights blink too. But I'm not worried, nothing bad has happened, yet.

Only if you can get used to the humiliation to start your X5 at night. |
well, ppl can see it as something humiliating, or some cool trick :D
either way you can always turn them on before turning the ignition :) |

If i can get it to blink on both sides, it will be nice to show off for sure. :) |
Yeah it blinks on both sides :D
|
lucky you my friend...
Maybe i should ask Dave on how to get my passenger side iBright to blink. |
LOL
|
For $139.99 I'd say it's very much worth the money...
