Odometer Question

before i bother the dealer with another question i'd rather come here first. sometimes it seems you guys know more.

anyways, here it goes: as i was driving home tonight i noticed one of my numbers on my odometer was not fully lit up. do you know what would cause a digital number to not display fully? all the other numeros are fine. what gives?

thanks!

Sounds like some of your pixels are malfunctioning on your instrument cluster. It's a common problem. The dealer will replace it under warranty. Otherwise, complain and bitch like hell, and they will do something nice for you. It's a well known problem with all BMW's.

i'm having the same problem on my 03 4.4 just 4k out of warranty. how much does the instrument cluster cost?

AutoXer 05-18-2006 08:43 PM

I think it's pretty expensive. Go complain to your dealers or BMW NA, they are aware of the problem and will give you a discount if you are loud enough:)

They replaced mine and I was 34K out of warranty, just had to pay $95 for labor.
