It is up to your intended use of the car......If you drive long at all the comfort seats are a must....if you drive around town then sport will do and keep you planted better....

If you are worried about driving it hard in the twisties, comfort seats are fine as well.....the option of being planted a bit more is not worth it for having to sit in that stiff less adjustable seat .....

I would not part with them having had the premium seats, sports seats and now the comfort seats and especially having done 900+ miles across europe then 11 days later 1800+ miles across the US in them they are a god send despite the unlimited adjustment options:)

I wouldn't disagree that all the adjustments are really nice, but the raised stitching on the E70 Comfort Seat bases is not very comfortable on a long (or short for that matter) journey!

We have an E46 with sport seats and an E53 with comfort seats and I much prefer the comfort seats. Definitely worth the money in my opinion.

Perhaps the E70 seats have this raised stitching, and the others don't?
The remainder of the seat is 110%

i am having a 2003 4.4i X5. The rear seat is so vertical and find it uncomfortable. Is there anyway that the rear seat can be modified to recline more? as it is so vertical, and virtually you can't sit and rest.

The new sport seats in E70 and E60 are the best. The back(side bolsters curve in), the front, the headrest are all adjustable.

My 2001 has sport seats and I bought my 2006 with comfort seats (since I thought I'd be sitting in traffic alot on the east coast) - I've driven cross country (2400+miles) in both - both have been comfortable - but I really dislike the headrests on the comfort seats - the whole upper part of the seat adjusts forward - since I sit so tall(42"), all it does is push my shoulders forward - the headrest itself is fixed and only moves up'n'down - the 2001 headrest tilts forward to support my head perfectly - I have not tried a 2006 sport seat, so I can't compare that - but like with everything else, YOU have to try it to see how comfortable YOU are - Good Luck

I've had both. The sport seats were great to keep you in-place. My wife hated the firmness, I liked it. Comfort seats don't hold you in-place near as well. I have the comfort seats now.
