So I installed the RS-4 pads. I turned the rotors and bedded them in. THe pedal is spongy now and it seems like they don't grip as well as the Axxis ultimates I had on there before.

Is this what you guys experienced?

No. feels the same as the old standard pads but 1000 times less dust.

spongy? try bleeding your brakes.
Porterfield has very linear braking characteristics unlike the ultimates (higher initial bite)...
I find the RS-4 to be easier to modulate and it can grab harder than ultimates when needed when it gets heated up.
