Anyone know a good window tinter in the NYC area?
 

I picked up my X5 last night and didn't realize that not even the rear glass has privacy tint to it. I felt like i was driving a fishbowl LOL.

Anyone here know a good window tinter - just looked for a clean job for 35% all the way around.

How much should this cost me ?

Not sure about a tinter (obviously), but I'd go 20% (medium) all the way around. It's very close to the BMW privacy glass tint.

well the oem bmw privacy glass is 35% in the back, If you really want 20% i would see local laws. Just another reason to get pulled over. Most members have 35% which is a nice medium between looks and being able to see at night.

I wouldnt pay more than $225 to get the entire car done. On the other side i have friends talking about getting their entire car done for $100 but the quality is horrible, Bubbles, hair between glass and tint, large gaps between end of window and tint. I went to my local dealership and asked them where they get there tints done on new cars. I got the number of the guy and he was a perfectionist.

I've heard good things about Lorenzo, in the Bronx. I've seen his work, and it is excellent. :thumbup:

35% really? When I went to get my fronts done, they said they used medium and it was 20%. hmmmmm, interesting. Thanks.

For the amount of money it is I am just do not get that much more enjoyment as a comuter car then I did my 05 Grand chrokee ltd with the 5.7 hemi and all options. I wanted Sirrius radio (NEED MY STERN)and they built it into the payment which pushed it over $800 per mo. I just dont feel it is worth that much after driving it a bit especially when I have the Porsche for the weekends.
The Technology in the 05 Jeep (nav-sirrius-bluetooth) I far better and better sounding than the x5 and for a city commuter that is very important to me. Ohh well if I cant give it back i'll just make the best of it.

Are you serious? Have you owned BMW before? Jeep does not handle anything like a BMW.

Darren, drive it around, throw it into some corners, step on the gas, smash on the brakes. You will appreciate it the more you do those things. The 5.7 Hemi might go as fast, but it won't turn, stop or do anything else as well. I have a 4.6 and I don't mind in the least bit jumping from my Turbo and into the X. Sorry to hear your dissapointment......:tsk: :tsk:

Lemans I have owned 3 m3's but never a BMW sedan (well excpet for a 2002 m5 for 3 weeks but then my biz partner bought it from me )or SAV b4, I drive it around NYC during the week so the handling i cant really get to appreciate it unfortunately

Ohhh well I am sure I have to keep it since i leased so i'll mod it and hopefully dig it more then!
