Clicking sound, need help
Ok so when I turn really hard like parking parallel steering wheel all the way to the left I guess, if its really hard there is a clicking sound sometimes, not continuous but once and you can hear it, any ideas what this is?

C/V joint is the first place to look. If you see a torn boot that will likely be your problem joint.
|
do those fail often and how much are they?
|
Chances are you've cought a stone and its ripped the rubber boot. Once this happens its only a matter of time before the CV joint dries up and you get the infamous clicking noises which usually means a new driveshaft or CV joint.
Probably round $500 (just a guess-timate) to have BMW fix it unless your car is under warranty:tsk: |
the clicking on full turn is the powersteering pump working. it's normal.

PAP thanks so much!

turn the steering wheel left/right with the engine off. if you can hear it then it's either the tie rods or the rack itself. for me it was caused by worn tie rods (inner)
