Just finished installion Invision Revolution III Video System

Here's a link to their products page:

You can watch two different DVD's on the headrest screens, or the same DVD, or one person can watch TV (the system includes a TV tuner) while the other watches a DVD. Sound is handled via either IR headphones or a built-in FM modulator.

Sorry, no pix (no time at the moment) but others have posted pix of this system:

Mine looks the same.

Lawrence from Invision hooked me up with one of his dealers and had the dealer drop ship the system to me. The instruction manual is a bit sketchy and that initially led me to connect the system incorrectly, but no damage done (it just didn't work) and one call to Invision cleared up the confusion.

All in all a very positive experience with Invision. Lawrence stayed right on top of the transaction to make sure I was taken care of and the system itself works flawlessly! Thanks Lawrence!

Your Welcome!

Thank you for the kind words Frank! And I got 2 thumbs up:2thumbs: ! Thanks bro!

Once again if there are any questions or concerns please feel free to give me a call.

A special shot out goes to Brenda for getting this kit out to Frank. ;)

Another satisfied customer... How's the TV tuner? I want the Rev 3.

Ben,
Frank told me the TV tuner works very nicely! He also said it even worked inside his garage in California. Frank is a very intelligent and technically inclined individual. His feedback and constructive criticism is greatly appreciated. I would love to have a person with his technical background to come work for INViSiON. He would be an asset to us down here.

Lawrence,

I asked in another thread several weeks ago if you offered these systems for the X3, and never got a response.

Do you offer them?

TV tuner works great if you have reception

It's like having rabbit ears on your TV (if you're old enough to remember those). Works great in some areas, not in others. Since I spend most of my time within viewing distance of Mt. Wilson (where most of the broadcast antennas are located around here) the tuner works great.

It can be a DIY

Installing the headrests is pretty easy. I've temporarily located the controller under the drivers seat and it's pretty easy to run the wiring from there. At the moment I'm using a cigarette lighter adapter for power - but only because this is part of a larger video integration project (I'll be installing a 3rd DVD player and NAV video) and I don't want to hardwire anything until I have all the components. If I was just doing the Invision system it would be a pretty straightforward DIY. Since my overall project is a bit more involved, I'm going to have the final install done professionally.

I paid $1795 +tx. This was the price quoted by the BMW dealer who shipped it to me. I have no idea what their markup is so you might be able to get a better deal elsewhere - however, this is roughly HALF the installed price of the OEM system, so I'm pretty happy with the deal I got.

Frank you got a great deal and I hope I can see some pictures of the finished product when you get everything else installed in your vehicle.

Have a great weekend!
