I bought mine from [email protected] for $227.00 Including shipping.

I have an 02 Tit Silv. I asked him what model year it would fit and he said 2000 - 2003. Of course I don't know if this is true since I'm not exactly sure what the differences are between 02 and 04+ lights.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the first time we are going to have an opportunity to buy an alteeza like lights for our X's so I'm pretty stoked. I will post a pic as soon as I install them. They call them Crystal (rear halo/angel eyes) tail lights in Europe and Asia.

same thing happened to me my old drivers side died on me.

PersonaNonGrata 06-12-2006 03:43 AM

Very interesting find. The thing that strikes me is that the side lenses don't match the inner ones. The crystal clear part clashes with the more reflectorized lense. :dunno: Maybe it's those photos or maybe that particular version. This picture from the link powers1 provided shows a more uniform clear on both pieces which looks better, IMO.

These lights are a little to ricey and JDM-ish for my taste.

However, it's interesting to see that the mfg has enabled the red lamp on the body mounted tail lamps. Are these lamps functioning as brake lights or fog lights?

The two articles in the X5world home page refer to enabling these as rear fog lamps. Has anyone tapped into the brake light circuit to use these two unused bulb outlets on the OEM tail lamps as an additional set of brake lights? It might be an interesting and cheaply done project that could change the appearance of the OEM tail lamps.

I tried sorting through the WDS diagrams - it's going to take some work to match the WDS diagrams with the OEM parts diagrams to find out what's what. I'm definitely willing to give it a shot, but I'm going to need some advisors.

Don Coffey 06-12-2006 07:37 AM

Will these still work with the staged braking (for want of a better dicription) ie. when braking normally only one set of brake lights come on, but when braking hard such as an emergency brake then all brake lights come on? I suppose it should as it's the same wiring being used but would like to be 100% sure.

Don

That was a concern for me as well. I didn't want the ricey look, but after seeing the pics posted on the previous page, I don't think it will look ricey.

godeacs06 06-12-2006 09:26 AM

sdogg888 - can u take a pic of the rear of ur X from farther away?

jst2878 06-12-2006 10:02 AM

Yeah, the resemblance to the Honda pilot tail light is uncanny.

I wish I read your post before I bought the lights. I guess I can't have my good ole blurry waffled lenses back. Eternal depression it is....

That was my exact thought when I saw those light!

sdogg888, do you have pictures of the light when they are on? Just wondering if those inner foglights (those under the reverse light) are functional?

PLAYERPRO 06-12-2006 11:03 AM

Looks Good Sdog!

PersonaNonGrata 06-12-2006 12:32 PM

Sdogg:

You've got to get some Silvervisions or Stealth bulbs for the rear turn signals. That will eliminate the "egg yolk" look of the amber bulb behind the white lense. It'll look sweet.

Nice new wheels too!
