I agree with Benathon it helps to stay as low key as possible when you near parking lots. I use to drive a 350Z and im not one to blast music or drive crazy and drift everywhere, but i live on a large street where a lot of people easily see my car and i was constantly getting egged :( My mom just the other day got her car keyed at the local bakery... common... sorry to hear what happen though, its never easy seeing your pride and joy in that condition.

In the early 90's, I was forced to tell my roommate’s husband, a crazy Vietnam Vet w/ sawed off shotguns, that she had a male friend who frequented her upstairs bedroom while he was working in Saudi Arabia.

Two days later my brand new Black Honda Accord was found completely scratched on Campus. It was thoroughly rubbed by a pot scrubbing pad in psychotic manner. I needed to repaint the whole car that cost me 2k that time. I immediately reported to the authorities, but they never got her or her lover.

What’s the moral lesson of this story? 1. Yes, I should have minded my own business but I felt that my life was threatened. 2. Stay the hack away from white trashes, black Asian or purple trashes too.

I don't know it makes you feel better but what I am telling you is it could be lot worse. As well as it is a physical damage but it is more of an emotional terror. The f%^&-face who did this to you wants to get mad every time you see the scratch. Don't make him/her get to you, then f$%^-face wins.

Last week someone took the plastic caps from the BMW 2000 Profile roof mounting sytem. He knew I have to replace the whole thing. I hope he dies and burn in hell eternally or his little winie falls off when he pees.

But what can I do? I won't lose my night sleep over this.

Carry a teaser gun and a video camera.
Use the teaser gun when you catch this guy, make sure there's no witness or closed-circuit camera around. Next best thing would be try to videotape the crime and prosecute them.
I wonder if we could make a citizen't arrest on this. Well it could be dangerous.

Get 2 webcams with motion activation and which comes with built-in webserver. Remove the shell casing and place one on the inside of A-pillar facing the D-pillar diagnally across. Place another camera on the that D-pillar facing the the 1st camera so that you have the 360 around the car covered. Cameras are powered by 12v. If you have carpc you can also have it send you an alert.

You can also add the after market sensitivity feature to the security alarm. You probably have witnessed that when you are in a parking lot and accidently touch the car next to you and either the alarm goes off or you hear "Please step back. Thank you".

I know. That is why I tried to educate him politely, rather than flaming him.

Doesn't just happen in the US. I got keyed here in Australia...same lowlife types here as well. Bad news is that it took the dealer 3 goes to get the paint right. Ended up having to strip the complete doors and do a complete repaint!!!
