Waste of money, are we thinking Dinan is engineering engine management software better than BMW? New flash…. That’s never going to happen. Aftermarket software makes changes at the expense of fuel economy, reliability and longevity. Software changes are needed when you change the engine configuration, just a software change removed the BMW engineered and proven software and replacing it with unknown and untested “tinkering”.

IMO if you need more speed, get a faster rig, Dinan stuff is great but significantly overpriced and difficult to service. This is another case where you load up the X5 and the Mrs and hit the road for a mini vacation and spend your 500-1000.00 on something that matters.

Again and not to hijack this thread. I appreciate the teaching here. I will get the tranny upgrade when it comes out for 06' and pound them when I take it in to check everything. Yes, changing to a Techron gas helped alot! Thanks.

I recently did both the Engine & Tranny software and for the money (@ 50% discount) it was worth the investment alone for just the better throttle response and tranny shift points.
