small problem
airbag light always on horn stopped working and cruise control doesnt activate sounds all related any ideas please  |
Did these all happen at the exact same time? Start checking fuses to see if any are bad after that take a trip to a dealer and read out the codes in the computer.

thanks brothers
dealer is picking it up today yes it all happened at same time just wanted insider knowledge |
unplug the battery for about 15 minutes!
|
unpluging the battery for 15 min would remove the airbag light? I dont think so right?
|
cars are getting like desktops, once in a while you need to reboot:tsk:
|
Try starting your X and in park turn your wheel all the way to the left then all the way to the left. (turns off some lights)
But it most probably is something like SuperGreg decribed. All your problems are related to the steering wheel harness. |
seems like the problem might be the wiring loom in the sterring wheel / column
the dealer tells me it has happened a few times with other X5's before, although not common it seems sometimes full lock can snap various wires in the loom so new loom getting fitted today and touch wood car back ready to roll |
got car back today
all sorted was wiring behind wheel replaced and ecu fault checked etc now i have cruise control, a horn and no irritating lights!!! so im a happy man again thanks for your suggestions paul |
