Depend on what they have for available at the time. I had x3 last time and it sucks. This time I am going to have 530 or 530i, I made a request to the service manager and told him that my wife want to compare between lexus and 530 before we purchase new, so he got one available for me by Friday. I will have my left front cv boot replace.

If you make a early appointment and request a loaner, you should be able to select what you want. I go early each time and choose whatever I want between a X3, 330i, 325xi, 330xi, 525i, 530i and Mini Coopers...

Some dealers don't give out loaners and some have Enterprise pick you up...

I only got a loaner a couple times in the last 10 years or so.

I made sure they would be giving me a loaner.

$500-600 for INSPECTION I .. they better give me a damn good loaner or Im walking out with my car.

I wouldnt mind a 5-series.

I rarely get a loaner, and when I do it, it's a rental from enterprise! SUX!!!

Our local dealer is very good with loaners – you get one for any occasion your car has to go in. Mind you, sometimes they are all out and you have to wait a day or two.

We have had a:

320i – handles well but engine is nothing great. (Same as wife’s car)
320i with sports pack – go kart handling though a little bumpy.
325 – turbine smooth engine, needs more low down oomph.
520 with sports pack – great car, needs bigger engine.
530d – I loved this car. Might even buy one in the future. I am now a diesel convert.

I've had a Camary, F150 and an Envoy. They "don't do" BMW loaners as it's too expensive.

X5, X3, E90 3-series and E60 5-series. Bobby Rahal BMW (Pgh PA) takes good care of its clients! I've never had an issue with getting a loaner with a pre-scheduled appointment.

I'm pretty certain that VOB uses Enterprise for its loaner cars, unless you bought the car from VOB and you requested one when making your appointment.

VOB does claim to have the largest inventory in the area, so maybe you'll get lucky if you smooth talk your SA.

As long as you schedule in advance, Herb Chambers in Boston always gives a BMW loaner. Usually a bare 3.25i or x3.

Ahh turns out I didnt even need service. They just put my key in and they said I have 3 green bars and that service was probably already done before I bought the car a couple months back.

ahhh but I love the service dept. Much better than where I come from (Infiniti).

Some dealers are fussy. Will not give you a BMW loaner if you did not buy from them...as a punishment:mad:, instead will give you a crappy enterprise rental. Don't really understand as "if you will not be nice to me, how will I decide to get my next car from you."

I have had a Z4 3.0iSMG, X3s, and an M3, mostly now thou we get Camrys

nupe10123 08-08-2006 01:37 PM

My last loaner was an X5 3.0, the one before that was a Cobalt (enterprise). Other loaners have typically been 3 series or enterprise cars. Honestly, I don't really care which I get - like dating, I can drive anything for a few days.

I can def say, that after driving the Cobalt for a couple days, it made me appreciate driving my own car that much more.
