How do I tell if my window regulator is out?
 

My uncles driver side window in his '00 X5 won't go back up.....I hear no motor working at all, no noise, I press the button and just silence. Is this the window regulator or the motor? I know it can't be the window clips because the clips brok on the passenger side but I could still hear the motor working when I pressed the window button. Thanks in advance!

The motor hardly breaks, more likely the window regulator. You could disassemble the windows and power up to confirm your suspicion. Do not disconnect the airbag unless you know how to reset airbag fault sig. There's bunch of articles here on this issue.
If you are brave enough do it yourself, save a bundle, and be a hero.
Some auto window shop might do cheaper than the dealers.
