Trailer Hitch
 

Hi Gang,
I have an '01 X5 4.4i SP, and I need to get a trailer hitch for it. Can anyone tell me what I need to order? Pacific BMW has these kits with cross members, etc. Do I need all of that?

The OEM setup is very well engineered and I strongly recommend you get it if you plan to do any towing at all. Here's a picture of what is in the OEM kit -

If your going to do any towing of consequence you'd be an absolute fool to not go with the OEM hitch. It will cost you about $500 and the better part of a day if you install it yourself. It's not technically difficult to install so if you have some mechanical ability DIY. This is one item you don't want to cheap out on.
